Our Pioneers

In the year 1889 four sisters from France were invited to Nagpur by the Ecclesiastical (Church) authorities to serve the In the year 1889 four sisters from France were invited to Nagpur by the Ecclesiastical (Church) authorities to serve the people of India. They were entrusted the work of taking care of the leprosy patients, physically challenged, sick and the poor. Since then we are working in Nagpur, Maharashtra state and spread to different areas of the state as well as different states in India and in other parts of the world. Our main service is empowerment of women and the poor in rural and urban areas. Today the SMMI Personal are mainly engaged in various humanitarian services such as Education, Medical Services, Social Services i.e. education of girl children, Boarding for economically backward children, centre for the development of women, dispensaries and nursing homes in rural areas, Home for the Physically and mentally challenged and elderly men and women.of India.
